This is a picture of Larry Rogers the founder of Rogers Farm. Larry has farmed all of his life and is the forth generation in the family to farm in the area. He started farming for a living in 1957 when he was 18. Back in 1957 he grew cucumbers, green peppers, eggplant, and tomatoes. In the 1970's he expanded and started to "farm big". At this point he grew large amounts of corn, tobacco, and soy beans, he farmed approximately 3000 acres. Around 1972 he bought the 80 acre plot that is now the home of Rogers Farm. In 1980 he established Rogers Farm and changed what he grew, he started growing alot of what we grow today which is strawberries, cantaloupes, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, and twelve different varieties of beans and peas. He now farms appoximately 1000 acres, and has 150 cows and 6 bulls as livestock. Currently there are three generations at Rogers Farm Larry, Greg and Sidney Rogers.
